Fourth-Year Medical Students Will Learn Where
They Will Pursue Residency Programs after Graduating from UMDNJ
NEWARK—On Thursday, March 16, more than 300 medical students at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey will receive sealed envelopes containing locations where they will work after becoming physicians. This scene will be replicated at medical schools throughout the country, as medical students simultaneously open their letters at noon.
There will be cheers, screams and tears as the students learn of the residency assignments that will be determined by the National Resident Matching Program in Washington, D.C. Annually, the NRMP matches students with residency openings.
Following the ceremonies, administrators will be on hand to answer questions about Match Day, and discuss placement results.
