11/1/05—The premiere performance and the official launch of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Theater Company will take place November 2 and 3 with The List, a one-act medical ethics drama about organ transplants. Performances both days are at 6:30 p.m. in the Medical Science Building Room B-610 on the Newark campus.
The play is written by former New Jersey Superior Court Justice Alex Menza, who is also a playwright and a member of the UMDNJ Board of Trustees. It directed by Solomon Caudle, a playwright and program director in the Department of Neurological Surgery at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, and a playwright.
The six-member cast includes two UMDNJ staff, Deborah Ferreira of the Department of Neurosurgery and Mary Kate Noonan of the Office of Business Conduct.
The company will stage Mr. Caudle’s play "When a Man Loves a Woman," an African-American musical about life, love and HIV, next spring in New Brunswick.
