At UMDNJ-School of Nursing
Senator Joseph Vitale To Deliver Keynote Address at Convocation
New Jersey Senator Joseph F. Vitale (D-Middlesex), chairman
of the Senate Health Committee, will deliver the keynote address
to the Class of 2004 at the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-School of Nursing convocation ceremony on
Monday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m., at the Clarion Hotel and Towers
in Edison.
Senator Vitale has provided leadership on issues such as working
conditions for nurses and on legislation allowing advanced practice
nurses to prescribe controlled substances.
Dr. Sara Torres, dean of
the UMDNJ-School of Nursing, will preside over the ceremony which
celebrates the outstanding achievements in academics, clinical
studies and community service among this year's graduates and
honors distinguished faculty at the school.
The commencement ceremony for the
Class of 2004, the largest in the University's history, will take
place on Tuesday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sovereign Bank
Arena in Trenton.
