Raritan Bay Medical Center Becomes Major Clinical
Affiliate of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
Raritan Bay Medical Center and University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey (UMDNJ) - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School have
signed an agreement designating the medical center to a major
clinical affiliate of the medical school.
Through the new agreement, Raritan Bay Medical Center, which
has had an internal medicine affiliation with the medical school
for 25 years, is adding programs in obstetrics and gynecology
and pediatrics.
"This agreement advances our commitment to excellence in the
pursuit of our core missions in education, research, patient care
and community health," said Dr. Harold L. Paz, dean of UMDNJ-Robert
Wood Johnson Medical School.
Michael R. D'Agnes, president and chief executive officer of
Raritan Bay Medical Center, said, "Expectant mothers now have
access to new and enhanced maternal fetal services, high risk
evaluation and treatment and an elevated level of care for newborns.
Our pediatric patients also will have increased access to specialty
services such as neonatologists and pediatric emergency services.
Our patients will receive the highest quality care close to home
from outstanding doctors who have the added experience of teaching
other medical professionals."
